Protecting your eyes from the sun

If you spend time outdoors in the sunshine then you need to protect your eyes from harmful ultraviolet (UV) light.
Looking directly at the sun may cause a solar burn of the retinA SO Even with sunglasses on – they don’t offer enough protection.

A common misconception about sunglasses is that the darker lens, the more protection they offer. This is not true.

Because your eyes are designed to interact with sunlight, wearing sunglasses for long periods of time can become a significant stress.

Wearing sunglasses continuously will make your eyes strain to see properly in poor light and cause headaches. however, Sunglasses are also very important to maintaining optimal health for our eyes.  They are great resources for blocking the sun’s ultraviolet radiation so that we do not develop serious eye conditions.
